Walker County Accident: 2 Killed, 1 Injured in Tragic Crash on Highway 27 in Rock Springs, Georgia

Walker County Accident – April 15, 2025 | Rock Springs, GA: A devastating multi-vehicle crash in Rock Springs, Georgia, has left two people dead and one seriously injured, according to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson. The collision occurred on Tuesday afternoon along Highway 27 near Industrial Drive.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene following reports of a major accident involving three vehicles. According to preliminary details released by the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the crash involved a gray Toyota Tacoma, a gray Jeep Renegade, and a black Nissan Rogue.

Investigators say the Toyota Tacoma was heading south in the left southbound lane of Highway 27, while the Jeep Renegade was traveling north in the left northbound lane. The Nissan Rogue was also traveling north, positioned just behind and to the right of the Renegade in the right northbound lane.

For reasons still under investigation, the driver of the Tacoma abruptly veered left across the center line and into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with the Jeep Renegade. The impact caused the Tacoma to overturn.

In an attempt to avoid the wreck, the driver of the Nissan Rogue swerved left but was unable to avoid the crash, striking the driver-side rear of the overturned Tacoma.

Both the driver of the Toyota Tacoma and the driver of the Jeep Renegade tragically died at the scene from their injuries. Their identities have not yet been released pending family notification.

A passenger inside the Jeep Renegade suffered critical injuries and was airlifted by Life Force helicopter to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga for emergency treatment.

The Georgia State Patrol has launched a full investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities are working to reconstruct the events leading up to the collision, and toxicology testing is expected to be conducted as part of the standard procedure.

Sheriff Steve Wilson urged the public to drive with caution, especially on heavily traveled highways such as Highway 27. “This is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly tragedy can strike on our roads,” Wilson said.

Further updates, including the identities of those involved, will be released as the investigation continues.
