On Wednesday, April 9, Jasmine collapsed in the kitchen of her Naples residence. Her young children, home at the time, found her unresponsive and quickly called for help. Despite their brave and swift action, Jasmine had already gone into cardiac arrest. She was rushed to the hospital, but the lack of oxygen caused devastating and irreversible brain damage. Jasmine later passed away, surrounded by loved ones.
Her husband, Blaine Barbuto, a Marine Corps veteran and dedicated Collier County sheriff’s deputy, was on duty when the tragedy occurred. Now, he faces the unthinkable task of raising their children alone while navigating the depths of grief over the loss of his wife and partner.
