Dundee Stabbing: Fatal Attack in Dundee Prompts Large Police Response in Douglas Area

Dundee Stabbing, Dundee, Scotland – April 2025 — A man has died following a stabbing incident in Dundee on Saturday, prompting a significant emergency response and a lockdown of a residential area in the city’s east end.

Police and emergency services descended on Balunie Terrace in the Douglas neighborhood late Friday night, where the incident reportedly unfolded. Authorities quickly cordoned off the street at its junction with Balunie Avenue, and residents reported seeing at least seven police vehicles and two ambulances at the scene.

One witness described the chaotic scene: “There were at least seven police vehicles and one ambulance when I arrived. Three of the police cars have since left and police appear to have taken one man away in one of the cars. There are a lot of people standing watching but they’re not sure what has happened.”

An ambulance incident support unit arrived at approximately 7:30 p.m., and Police Scotland officers were seen redirecting residents and onlookers, urging them not to cross the cordon. Some residents were unable to return to their homes as the investigation unfolded.

Police have since confirmed that one person has died as a result of the incident. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said:
“Around 8:00 p.m. on Friday, emergency services were called to the Balunie Terrace area of Dundee following reports of a disturbance. A man was found with serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A police investigation is underway and officers remain at the scene.”

No further details about the victim or any suspects have yet been released. However, one man was reportedly taken away from the scene by police.

Investigations are ongoing, and Police Scotland has urged anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
