Dr. Larry J. Miller was a board-certified emergency medicine physician who dedicated more than three decades to providing lifesaving care in South Texas. He received his medical degree from the prestigious University of Michigan Medical School and began a remarkable journey that saw him serve as the chairman of the emergency departments at five Baptist Health System hospitals in San Antonio for over 15 years.
During his 31-year tenure practicing emergency medicine at Baptist hospitals, Dr. Miller treated over 130,000 patients. He also served as medical director for 10 EMS agencies throughout South Texas for more than 30 years, providing medical oversight and guidance to first responders. Throughout his career, he was never involved in a malpractice action—a testament to his professionalism, skill, and ethical approach to care.

As the founder and CEO of Vidacare, Dr. Miller led the development of this life-saving technology, which earned Innovation of the Year awards from The Wall Street Journal in both 2008 and 2012.
